Shillong: The Meghalaya Tribal Teachers’ Association-NEHU in its general body meeting which was held on May 11 took a resolution that as part of its community out-reach programme, it will review the draft of the Meghalaya State Education Policy.
As the government of Meghalaya has given the ‘Task Force’ a time frame of 45 days to finalise the draft, it shows that the state government is keen to implement the policy at the earliest. Hence, MeTTA’s members from various academic departments of North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) had a discussion and reviewed the draft education policy after which the suggestions were submitted to the Education Department, Government of Meghalaya.
The association anticipates the Task Force for the education policy to incorporate all the suggestions made by it.
