Act responsibly to maintain order, Conrad tells leaders

SHILLONG: Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma has asked the responsible leaders to act responsibly to ensure peace and development of the state.

Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday about the recent clashes in the city,   Sangma said that detailed inquiry into the incident was going on and , Government would take action on the basis of the findings of the inwuiry.

Stating that he does not want to play the blame game on the issue, he assured that the law would  take its own course as inquiry into the incident is going  on and   Government is collecting reports from all sides.

“Our government will never a play a blame game for problems  in the  past or in the future,” he said adding that if the Government finds someone responsible for  the incident, law will take its own course.

Reacting to a query about the   difficult issue of relocation of the residents of Them Iew Mawlong, he said that   though it was an old issue with lot of legalities, Government was ensuring that it did  not sit on things

He reiterated that the Government was committed to find out a solution to the problem by involving all stakeholders and Government wanted to ensure that the recent law and order problems did not erupts  again in the city.

It may be mentioned that the High Level Committee  (HLC) constituted by the Government has had two sittings and the Government is getting a lot of positive results from the committee’
