SHILLONG: The recruitment process for the post of Unarmed Branch Sub-Inspectors (UBSIs) has been cancelled as the outsourcing agency has reported detection of technical flaw due to programme failure while correcting the OMR Sheets and allotment of marks for the post.
Police headquarters, in a statement issued on Wednesday, said that as per the orders of the government, the recruitment for 120 posts of UBSI will be re-conducted.
Further announcement regarding recruitment for the posts of UBSI will be made in due course of time, the statement said.
Inspector General of Police H. Nongpluh, who is dealing with the recruitment process informed the candidates that their candidatures are provisional and subject to the outcome of the case pending in the High Court of Meghalaya since last year.
“The declaration of result shall not confer any additional right to any person”, the statement said.
In compliance with the order of the High Court of Meghalaya, the children of non-gazetted police personnel are not given bonus marks.
“The candidates will be selected from the merit lists for appointment to the posts as per reservation policy of the government”, Nongpluh said.
The select lists of candidates will be published in due course after obtaining the approval of the government, the official said.
Earlier, on the basis of the physical efficiency test, written examination and personal interview/ trade test conducted by the Central Recruitment Board, the merit lists of candidates were published for the various posts of SF-10 and others.
The lists are available in the website of Meghalaya Police www.-megpolice.gov.in.
