Heavy showers began to lash the town by around 9:45 pm which continued without letting up until early morning turning usually tiny streams into torrents which flooded into roads damaging shops located along its banks.

Two shops located at Don Bosco junction at Sampalgre locality were completely washed away by the raging waters of the Kasinang Stream which also did major damage to the tiled road laid there.
