SHILLONG: The Mawsynram Constituency Welfare Organisation Shillong (MCWOS) extended their support to the MLA Mawsynram constituency, HM Shangpliang on his demand to upgrade Mawsynram Block to Civil Sub-Division.
Shangpliang made his demand to the NPP-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government recently.
The MCWOS urged the state government to pay heed to the requests of the constituency as people often prefer to stay the night in Shillong considering the bad road condition in the constituency.
The organisation has urged the people of Mawsynram to leave aside party affiliations but to lend their voice to the demand of Civil Sub Division by attending the public meeting on Saturday at Seng Khasi Hall Dongneng to discuss on the demand.
