Driver apprehended in hit and run case

NONGSTOIN: A truck involved in a hit and run on NH 127B at Mawpun in Ri Bhoi district was finally caught at Nongprut village after being pursued by Riangdo police.
The accident occurred when the truck, which was loaded with eatables, hit a local taxi on Saturday around 9:15 am.
Two persons sustained injuries and were shifted to Riangdo CHC.
After the accident, the truck fled towards Aradonga (West Khasi Hills) when it was pursued by the police.
The truck was driven by Sanaja Rabha (26) of Gorshuk, Assam along with a handyman Lucky Boro (18) of Boko Nalaghat, Kamrup Assam. The truck was seized and taken to Riangdo PS.
The injured, who were the occupants of the local taxi, were identified as Phritwell Dkhar (60) of Nongryngkew village, and Kalbinus Mawlieh (30 yrs) of Banglapluh village, under Mawshynrut Civil Sub Division, Riangdo.
In this connection the relative of the injured driver filed an FIR and a case was registered and the investigation of the case is going on.
