SHILLONG: A nine-year-old boy in West Jaintia Hills was allegedly kidnapped and murdered by his brother-in-law

West Jaintia Hills SP, Vivek Syiem said that it was on June 26 when a nine-year-old boy   from Umjalasiaw village was kidnapped by his brother-in-law, Shiningstar Pala and the matter was informed at Saitsama Outpost on June 27.

Syiem said that the child was taken towards Karbi Anglong, Assam and the accused,  Shiningstar Pala along with Pynchemi Phawa , driver of the tourist cab (ML04 C 4532)  were arrested  June 27.

On Thursday, on the lead provided by Shiningstar Pala, the dead body of the abducted child was recovered from Laher village West Karbi Anglong.

The machete (dao) used in the murder and another car used by the accused persons have been seized.

Shiningstar Pala, the main accused who has several criminal cases pending against him, committed the murder over a personal issue with his ex-wife  as the victim was the brother of his ex-wife.

“Investigation will be taken up vigorously to take it to its logical conclusion,” Syiem added.
