SHILLONG: A delegation of Lympung ki Hynriew Shnong, an association of six Dorbar Shnongs, submitted a resolution on the ongoing issue of Sweepers’ Colony to the chairman of High Level Committee (HLC).
The delegation included representatives from the Dorbar Shnong of Mawkhar, Umsohsun, Wahthapbru, Mission Compound, Riatsamthiah and Wahingdoh.
The memorandum urged the HLC to expeditiously complete the assigned responsibility duly mandated by law without fear or favour and pull or pressure from any quarters.
Headman of Mission Compound, G.S. Basan said that they met the DC P.S Dkhar to highlight the outside interference. The DC has to monitor those organisations from outside the state from interferring into the matters concerning the Sweepers’ Lane, he said. ‘‘It is an internal matter of the state. We are unhappy over outside organisations interfering into the matters of our state,” the headman said.
Assistant headman of Wahingdoh R.S. Marbaniang criticised the inflammatory comments circulated on social media by groups from outside the state.
