SHILLONG: The Shillong Municipal Board, which did the listing of the households in Punjabi Lane on Tuesday, did not continue with the enumeration on Wednesday.
The Board wanted to make a headcount in the colony on Tuesday but could not as most of the houses there were locked.
Asked if the Board would again visit the colony for the headcount, SMB chief executive officer, B Sohliya said it would depend on the order of the high level committee or the state government.
The inventorisation of Punjabi Lane (Them Iew Mawlong) was conducted amidst a sit-in demonstration staged by the women residents of the colony on Tuesday.
The Board is conducting the exercise in accordance with the directive of the high-level committee in order to identify the legal and illegal settlers in the area.
It is learnt that 128 employees of the Board are residing in the area.
