SHILLONG: The High Level Committee is waiting for the report of the Shillong Municipal Board and survey report of the Directorate of Land Records and Survey after which it will sit for a meeting.
Speaking to a section of the media here on Friday, chairman of the HLC and Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said, “We are waiting for the report and let us see. Let the Municipal Board and the Directorate of Survey and Land Record submit their reports to us.”
He added that the committee will sit for a meeting once the reports are received and then chalk plans on how to proceed in the matter.
Asked to comment on the recent visit of the National Human Rights Commission, Tynsong said, “I have nothing to comment on this. Any commission will have to go as per prescribed mandate.”
However, he asserted that the duty of the government as per the Constitution of India will have to be performed for the interest of every citizen.
