SHILLONG: KHADC CEM and former Mawsynram legislator, PN Syiem has slammed the ‘copy and paste’ move of certain MLAs who have joined the chorus demanding civil sub-divisions in their respective constituencies.
Speaking to reporters, Syiem said legislators have started making the demand following the government move to create the Ranikor civil sub-division which resulted in resignation of M.M Danggo from the Congress.
He asked the legislators making the civil sub-division demand to follow in the footsteps of Danggo and submit their resignations as MLAs.
He also stated that the MLAs should have avoided making the demand now and they should have waited for some more months.
Among the legislators making the demand are Mawsynram MLA H.M Shangpliang, Mawlai MLA P.T Sawkmie and Umroi legislator George Lyngdoh.
