TURA: A teachers’ body in Garo Hills has submitted a memorandum to the authorities of the SBI Chandmari Branch in Tura regarding deductions being made by the bank from most SSA Schools accounts.
According to the teachers, deductions are being made from MDM funds, school maintenance grant, teaching learning materials fund, cook salaries and even teachers’ salaries from joint accounts.
The teachers urged the GM to direct branch managers not to make deductions from schools’ joint current accounts or that it is changed to joint savings bank account.
