SHILLONG: With UDP and PDF planning to put up candidates besides the opposition Congress for the Ranikor by-poll, NPP president W.R Kharlukhi said the party has no problem in coalition partners fielding candidates.
According to Kharlukhi, the varied stand of coalition partners as far as Ranikor by-poll is concerned, will not have any negative impact on the MDA coalition.
“We the coalition partners did not have any pre-poll alliance and hence the MDA partners are free to contest the by-poll,” the NPP leader said.
Kharlukhi said the date of former Congress legislator M.M Danggo joining NPP will be decided shortly.
However, party sources said the official entry of Danggo into NPP is likely to be held when the Ranikor civil sub-division is inaugurated sometime in July second week.
The civil sub-division will be functioning from a temporary office till a separate building is constructed like in the case of other civil sub-divisions created by the state government, NPP sources added.
