SHILLONG: The Mawsynram Civil Sub Division Demand Committee led by MLA of Mawsynram, HM Shangpliang as chairman will meet the Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Thursday.
The Congress MLA from Mawsynram will submit a memorandum demanding the setting up of Civil Sub-Division at Mawsynram.
On the same day, a social activist, Banshai Marbaniang and the Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) will hold a sit-in demonstration to protest against the state government for not upgrading Mawsynram to a civil sub-division.
The people who are demanding Civil Sub-Division in Mawsynram asserted that the demand for Mawsynram Civil Sub-Division was a long pending one.
