SHILLONG: The joint retreat ceremony of the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) at Dawki will be delayed further as the neighbouring country is not prepared, a BSF official informed here on Thursday.
The official said the BSF’s plan to conduct a retreat ceremony at the Indo-Bangla border had to be stalled several times as its counterpart in the neighbouring country is not yet ready due to lack in infrastructure and roads.
As Dawki is one of the favourite tourist destinations in the state with a border checkpoint used by tourists to cross over to India, BSF is coming up with other infrastructure like cafeteria and gallery. It is also planning to develop tourism related infrastructure at Kilapara outpost in Dalu.
