SHILLONG: UDP MDC from Umsning Donkupar Sumer resigned from the executive committee of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council on Thursday while the CEM inducted James Sylliang and Grace Mary Kharpuri into the EC.
Earlier in the day, council chief executive member Pynshngain N Syiem said he had decided to drop Sumer as an executive member since he was involved in the conspiracy to topple the present committee.
Syiem said Sumer should have resigned before becoming a part of the move.
“It is really surprising that he is conspiring to topple the EC which he is still part of,” he added.
“I have recommended the names of James Sylliang and Grace Mary Kharpuri to the Governor for induction as new executive members,” Syiem said.
Sylliang and Kharpuri, who were earlier dropped from the executive committee, will replace Sumer and Laitumkhrah UDP MDC Neil Antonio War, who was recently dropped from the executive body.
