GVK EMRI vows support on World Zoonoses Day

SHILLONG: On the occasion of World Zoonoses Day which is a day to help raise awareness of the growing risk of zoonotic diseases, which are diseases that can be spread from animals to humans, GVK EMRI on Friday offered to provide the best in class veterinary care to livestock, pet and exotic animals at the doorstep of livestock and pet owners.
In a statement, GVK EMRI said it provides training by highlighting the subject on personal protection by giving personal protective equipment to staff of MVC’s and upgrading the staff knowledge regarding emerging and reemerging diseases of animals.
Other initiatives include PAS 1962 services created a system through technical support and cooperation of Animal Husbandry Department Telangana State for mapping, surveillance and planning of outbreaks of livestock diseases which are of zoonotic importance.
GVK said 2% of cases seeking 108 services were for animal bites.
It also creates awareness among farming community on livestock rearing on scientific lines to get optimum results and to also spread awareness to the community on the aspects of various zoonotic diseases and their control and preventive measures through 1962 and 108 emergency services provided by GVK EMRI.
