Guv condoles Jacob’s death

SHILLONG: Governor Ganga Prasad mourned the demise of M. M. Jacob, former Governor of Meghalaya, Former Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha).
 In a statement released on Monday, Prasad said “In his death, the state as well as the nation has lost a visionary leader, a distinguished parliamentarian and a fine gentleman.”
The governor also extended his condolences to all the family members of the departed soul.
The members of Sri Sarada Sangha Shillong also condoled the demise of the former governor.
The former governor had graced the Golden Jubilee celebration of Sri Sarda Sangha Shillong in 2004 as the chief guest during his tenure.
His valuable speech on that occssion still inspires the Sangha, the release said.
Meanwhile, Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) B D Mishra and Chief Minister Pema Khandu also condoled Jacob’s death, reported. (With inputs from PTI)
