SHILLONG: Former members of ANVC-B may resort to open protest against the Home Minister James Sangma for his negligence regarding rehabilitation packages of the ANVC-B cadres.

Former ANVC- B Secretary, Deepan G Momin said that their chairman wrote to James Sangma and even talked to him through phone but his ‘niatgenba’ which means ‘I will see’ is what can be termed as politician’s promise.

“ Four years we have been neglected and still they simply make excuses to look into our problem,” he said while adding that in last joint monitoring committee meeting at Delhi, the state representatives informed that packages were released to 365 ANVC cadres which was surprisingly not known to ANVC representatives

Stating that it is total failure of the State Government and the Home Minister for not taking their matter seriously, the group issued a deadline of week’s time to give them their dues and to resolve their  problems or else they we will resort to open demonstration against the Home Minister in State and also burn down effigy of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Kiren Rijiju as they were present when the agreement was being signed

He also said that the state under Congress and now under NPP  were dishonouring the Agreement with the Centre  and they had been cheated.

“We will protest against the Home Minister and his government. If he can’t solve our problem, he must resign,” he added.
