New Delhi: A chance to become a part of an Indo-Spanish club, train and play in a registered Spanish Federation Leagues will no longer remain a dream for Indian children.
In a recent phenomenon, Sudeva FC, a Delhi Based 2nd Division I-League Club has acquired CD Olimpic De Xativa a (3rd Division Club) in Spain. Sudeva has arranged for ex- Real Madrid player and currently a Head coach, Oscar Rubio, to visit India and personally handpick kids from various cities in India.
As part of the talent scouting initiative, Mr. Rubio will be selecting children for CD Olimpic De Xativa, a third division club in the Valencia region of Spain. Players selected would represent CD Olimpic De Xativa 3rd Division, 5/6th Division, U18, U15 & U13 teams in Spain. These players will get a chance to represent their Clubs in Spain.
The trials are being held from July 14 -20 in the age categories of U-13, U-15, U-18 and U-23. Rubio, accompanied by Anuj Gupta, Co-Founder, Sudeva, will be touring Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Guwahati to look for talent.
Talking about joining hands with Oscar Rubio, Gupta said, “We welcome him and would like to take this opportunity to invite and urge all footballers in the critical age categories, giving them a chance to compete on an international platform by giving them an opportunity to play and get trained with international talent”.
Apart from representing Real Madrid in the 1998-99 season and being a professional player for over 18 years, Rubio has a vast experience in coaching third division senior teams along with a special expertise in scouting young talent. He has been the head of various scouting companies and clubs (Top Division Youth Teams) in Spain and has also acted as a scout for young talent in Real Madrid. He has been the Head Coach of Division De Honor Youth Teams in Spain. His firm belief in Sudeva’s vision coupled with the fact that there is no dearth of good talent in India is bringing him here.
The trials in Guwahati will be held on July 20 at LNIPE Campus, Guwahati. Registration for the same will be done from 9 am to 11am.
