State mountaineer clears judges’ course

SHILLONG: Kayleigh Petra Nongkynrih, assistant secretary of Meghalaya Sport Climbing and Mountaineering Association and a resident of Upper Lumparing has successfully secured Level 1 in Judges course, while Bakordor Umsong of Lyngkyrdem secured Level 2 in Route Setting at the Judges, Route Setters and Belayers Course 2018 conducted by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation at Srinagar from June 24- 26. Kayleigh, besides being the first woman from the state to attain this level, is also the only woman to be selected from the Northeastern states. She is now eligible to participate as judge in all national level sport climbing competitions. Bakordor, on the other hand, can participate as route setter in zonal events and as assistant route setter at the nationals.

Change of venue for First Division Football matches

SHILLONG: The Shillong Sports Association has informed that due to unavoidable reasons the First Division Football Matches on July 16 and 17 will be played at Ground No 3, Polo at 3.45 pm and not at the J N Complex as informed earlier.
