MDA yet to finalise CMP

SHILLONG: It been more than two months since the common minimum programme (CMP) of the ruling Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) was submitted to the government but the government was yet to discuss and deliberate on the programme.

Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tysnong said that they would sit shortly to discuss the common minimum programme (CMP) of the government

He also said that the common minimum programme would be first taken up at the coordination committee before the government approves it.

In the CMP, there is emphasis on the education sector and it focuses on, among other things, quality teachers and improving teaching of Science and Mathematics. The draft also wants “revamping of MBoSE”.

Besides, the draft seeks to facilitate employability in agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry and fishery sectors, adding the draft also suggests setting up of music and sports academies to tap young talents.

It may be mentioned that the coordination committee consist of leaders from all the political parties supporting the MDA government.
