Police forms SIT to inquire into petrol bomb attack on MPSC building

SHILLONG: Shillong Police have constituted a Special Investigation Team(SIT) to investigate into the recent petrol bomb attack at the office of the Secretary of the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) here in the city.

Speaking to media persons, East Khasi Hills District, Superintendent of police Davis Marak  said that the SIT comprises of a SP,  Additional SP, Officer in-charge and two other officers.

Stating that the police have made a sketch of the two  miscreants  who lobbed the petrol bomb based on the description of the two eye witnesses, he added that the SIT had already started working on the case. 

Reacting to a query, the District Police chief added that nothing could be ruled as to whether the incident was personal,  professional or linked to the recent unrest in the city

It may be mentioned that that unidentified miscreants had lobbed petrol bomb at the office of the MPSC secretary,  WM Booth on July 9 morning and made later fled from the scene.
