Accident
Two women identified as Asha Nahto and Ting Munkin sustained injuries after their scooty was hit by a Maruti 800 near 5th Mile in Upper Shillong on Wednesday. Both victims were transported to Woodland hospital by a 108 ambulance.
Joding Marak (28) sustained injuries after his scooty collided with a pick up truck near Wathegre on Wednesday. A 108 ambulance arrived on the scene and transported the victim to Tikrikilla PHC.
Banriskhem Mawlieh (29) sustained minor injuries when the Maruti Alto tourist vehicle he was travelling in collided with a truck at 4th Mile in Upper Shillong on Tuesday. He was later admitted at Civil Hospital.

Body recovered
The body of Nipenson M Sangma (63) was recovered from Pelgawari Ganol River in West Garo Hills at 11am on Tuesday. The deceased had been reportedly missing since July 15.

Cyber crime
A woman lodged a complaint stating that on July 14 around 10am, one Sangma H Balrak made false accusations and insulted her by posting her photos on social media. The report also stated that around 10:40am, another account by the name ‘Anga A’chik Mande’ also posted the same material in various social groups. The post contained derogatory statements and insults pertaining to the complainant’s cultural identity. The post has been followed with continuous insults by others identified as Kim Aksal, Rahul Marak, Rikseng Sangma and Seugwancha Agitok.
Udaya Hajong of Kharmalki, lodged a complaint stating that on July 6 around 6pm, one Prabhakar Koch posted objectionable comments through Facebook. Police have arrested the accused.

ATM theft
Unknown miscreants attempted to lift a State Bank of India ATM at Ladthalaboh in Jowai on Monday.

Truck missing
Sanjoy Garg, manager of M/s R.K Trade & Logistics, Lumshnong lodged a complaint stating that on June 2, one truck (NL-01L-5340) driven by Tapan Das and loaded with 420 bags of cement, was dispatched from M/s Star Cements, Lumshnong to Moinaguri, West Bengal. However, the truck never arrived at the destination.
