SHILLONG: A couple was taken to a hospital on Sunday after they were found severely injured at their residence in Mawngap.
The 28-year-old woman was found lying in a pool of blood with stab wounds while her husband was found lying unconscious on the floor.
It is suspected that the woman was stabbed by her husband.
According to police, both husband and wife have been hospitalised and while the woman is still in critical condition, the husband is out of danger.
“We are yet to find out the reason behind the incident and we are yet to interrogate the couple as both of them are still undergoing treatment,” said East Khasi Hills SP Davis NR Marak on Wednesday.
However, the incident appears to be a case of domestic violence which had taken a bloody turn.
