Orientation programme  to uplift farmers

Shillong: A two-day induction and orientation programme for the newly recruited Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) functionaries organised by the Department of Agriculture began in Upper Shillong, on Thursday.

Governor Ganga Prasad, who graced the event as the chief guest congratulated the new functionaries of the department who will be involved in bringing about a  change on the life of the farmers.

The governor said that their main priority and focus should be to reach to 80% small farmers of the State.

The governor pointed out that the inductees must work with dedication and their performance will be assessed annually whereby the best performing ATMA functionary will be awarded.
