SHILLONG:  Former Congress leader and a stalwart politician of the state,  Rowell Lyngdoh feels that the upcoming Ranikor by poll will be a good contest and the former local MLA MM Danggo has the edge over other candidates.

Speaking to The Shillong Times,  Lyngdoh said that  UDP has a strong candidate while  MM Danggo knows how to the  handle the situation.

He also said that with the entry of PN Syiem into the picture, the contest had become more interesting as some leaders from different political parties were likely to support the candidature of  Syiem.

He also made it clear that as NPP leader and he would support the  NPP candidate in the elections.

Though elections are yet to be formally announced,  different political parties in the state have started their ground work for the elections.

The by poll in Ranikor has been necessitated   after former Congress MLA MM Danggo   left the Congress and also resigned from the post of MLA and join the NPP after the NPP-led MDA Government  upgraded Ranikor Administrative Block into a  Civil sub division.
