Shillong: An action-packed day awaits in the Meghalaya Baby League (MBL) 2018 here on Saturday, with 10 teams set to play in 25 matches spread across all age groups.
The MBL is a joint initiative of Tata Trusts, the Meghalaya Football Association and the All India Football Federation.
The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Third Ground and Futsal Ground will host Saturday’s matches.
Last weekend Langsning Greenergy Lions won four out of their five games against ENE Falcons, with the 6-7 age group match ending in a 2-2 draw.
This was the first time that any team has been able to prevent the Greenergy Lions from winning. This weekend Langsning Greenergy Lions will take on Little Star Clouded Leopards at 10:00am. Meanwhile, ENE Falcons have earned themselves a break and will not be part of the day’s fixture.
Unified Gorkha Gators took on Kickstart FCC Rhinos last Saturday. The Gators won the 6-7 age group match 3-1, but lost their other four matches against the Rhinos.
The Gators will also be absent on Saturday but the Rhinos will take on Mawlatbah SC Hawks at 12:30pm.
Meanwhile, Nongthymmai GC Scorpions will take on Sunnydale School Doves at 9:30am, Wahlakhiat Bulls will go up against Touchline NE Cubs at 1:20pm and Nongtrai Cheetahs will face JNS Jaguars at 1:20pm.
