9 injured in separate accidents

SHILLONG: Nine people were injured in a string of road accidents over the weekend.
On Sunday, two people sustained injuries after the Maruti car they were travelling in met with an accident in Marbisu area near Kreitat at 8:30 am. The victims, Kesmanwell Iawphniaw (52 /male ) and Nedralin Lyngdoh (43/female) were shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital by Mawphlang-based 108 ambulance.
On the same day, the driver of a swift car sustained injury after the car skidded and hit a divider at Mawlein near Fun Thrills Park around 2 pm. Rupa Dutta (35/female) received minor injury and first aid was administered by EMT of Umsning-based 108 ambulance.
In Bhoirymbong, two male victims, both 21 years old, who were travelling in their bike (AS21 F 2161) met with an accident with a jeep near Liarkhla. The victims, Nikesh Supurela and Pavan Batarai were shifted to Bhoirymbong CHC by 108. They were later referred to NEIGRIHMS for further treatment.
A man was hit by an auto rickshaw at Demseiniong near NEEPCO around 1 pm. The victim, Harbert Lyngdoh (42/male) was shifted by Lawmali-based 108 ambulance to NEIGRIHMS.
Police called 108 around 4:30 pm to report an accident near Pomura in East Khasi Hills. The victim, Banrap Sutnga (30/male) was shifted by Mawryngkneng-based 108 ambulance to Bethany Hospital.
Another case was reported by police around 4.40 pm. Wanbiang Lamare (32/male) met with an accident near Pomura in EKH and the victim was shifted to Bethany Hospital by Khliehtyrshi-based 108 ambulance.
On Saturday, a Maruti car skidded near Laitkor Peak leaving a 28-year-old man with head injuries. The victim was shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital by Smit-based 108 ambulance.
