Don Bosco team bag medals at Taekwondo tourney

TURA: Fighters from Don Bosco School in Tura has once again done the school and the region proud by winning medals at the 1st Inter District Open Taekwondo Championships held at JN Sports Complex Indoor Stadium, Polo in Shillong from July 21 to 23.

 

The team from Don Bosco bagged altogether 6 Gold, 8 Silver and 9 Bronze medals. The Gold medals were won by Dimsel Ch Sangma, Gamjam Momin, Krist Jerixo Marak, Lastmania T Sangma and Osman T Sangma (Coach), while Tengsime Sangma,  Avera G Momin, Dimsel Ch Sangma, Gamjam Momin, Krist Jerixo Marak, Mankam Momin and Patricia A Sangma each won a silver medal. Avera G Momin, Dimsel Ch Sangma, Gamjam Momin, Lastmania T Sangma, Mankam Momin, Tengsime Sangma were the Bronze medal winners.

 

Meanwhile, a felicitation programme was also held for the athletes on Tuesday in which West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Ram Singh was the Chief Guest and NEHU Assistant Professor, Jino Sangma the Guest of Honor.

 

In his brief address to the athletes, the Chief Guest urged them to strive to become medal winners at the national Games which is being held in the state in two years time.
