M M Dangoo joins NPP, sounds confident to win from Ranikor in by-poll

SHILLONG: Former Congress MLA from Ranikor, M M Dangoo today official joined the ruling National People’s Party (NPP) at the NPP office in Shillong.

Talking to media persons after joining the NPP, Danggo said that he had the support of the people in the constituency and exuded confidence to win the by-election to be held soon.

On, UDP and PDF fielding candidates against him, Danggo said that in every election so far he had accepted challenges from all the parties and he did not mind anybody contesting against him as the people were with him.

Asked if Civil Sub Division was the only reason behind him resigning from the Congress and joining the NPP, Danggo said that his aim was to get a civil sub division for people in his political tenure and he had done so.

It may be mentioned that Danggo had quit Congress and resigned from the State Assembly as an MLA, after the NPP-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) pledged to upgrade Ranikor Block to a civil sub-division which was a long-standing demand of the people of Ranikor constituency.
