Capt Clifford Nongrum honoured on Martyr’s Day

SHILLONG: A wreath laying ceremony on Kargil Vijay Diwas was organised on Thursday to pay homage to late Capt K Clifford Nongrum who was posthumously awarded the Mahavir Chakra at St Anthony’s College under the aegis of NCC Shillong Group.
Capt Nongrum was an alumuni of St Anthony’s College and ex NCC cadet of 41 Meghalaya Artillery Battery, NCC.
Maj Gen Raju Chauhan, ADG, NE Region NCC Directorate attended the event as the chief guest along with other civil and military dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, Chauhan emphasised on the need to support, adopt and to remember fallen heroes and their families.
He further added there is no bigger sacrifice known to man, than to lay down one’s life for the nation.
He conveyed his thanks to Brother Albert L Dkhar, principal of St Anthony’s College and complimented 41 Meghalaya Arty Bty NCC Shillong for organizing the event.
