SHILLONG: Former ANVC-B leader Bernard Marak, who unsuccessfully contested in the last Assembly elections, said on Saturday he has resigned from the All India Trinamool Congress and is discussing his next move with supporters.
In a statement to the media, Marak said he would “make public our decision in the next few days”.
He said in the statement that his supporters want him to remain “non-political” and contest the upcoming by-poll in South Tura. Referring to the alleged money power during elections, Marak said every time he contested, his campaign was based on an issue.
“I will make our decision within a week,” he said in the statement.
Bernard contested the last election from the constituency and secured 1,560 votes.
