Student loses life to drowning

TURA: A young girl brimming with enthusiasm and about to embark on a career had her life tragically cut short due to drowning on Friday in Williamnagar.

The young and bright student, Ritu Ritziey W Momin, had gone to the banks of the Rongon river, a tributary of the Simsang River, with two other family members for an outing when she was swept away by the river currents.

Although she was able to be brought out of the water and rushed to Williamnagar civil hospital she could not be resuscitated.

A former student of Sacred Heart School in Williamnagar, she was completing her Bachelor of Science in Forestry from Dolphin Post Graduate Institute of Biomedical and Natural Science University in Dehradun, Uttrakhand. She was reportedly on the eve of her return to the university when tragedy struck.
