SHILLONG: Two BJP ministers from the Centre have asked state BJP leaders to strengthen the party ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
Union ministers Harsh Vardhan and Radha Mohan Singh visited the BJP office on Saturday and discussed how to strengthen the party at the grassroots level, besides other related issues.
The ministers apprised the state BJP leaders that other parties are joining hands against the Narendra Modi government to inculcate a sense of insecurity in the minds of people and they are trying to find out flaws and misguide Indian citizens.

“The upcoming 2019 election is not about saving NaMo but about saving the nation from corruption,” the ministers said.
The duo guided them to uplift the party organisation. They said after the Modi government came into power, the northeastern region has been given top priority for overall development.
“However, different NaMo schemes have not been made available to the people in this part of the country due to non-cooperation of the non-NaMo governments. On the contrary, these schemes have been utilised and benefitted by the masses of the states ruled by BJP,” Basu Chakraborty, spokesperson of BJP Meghalaya, said in a statement quoting the ministers.
The ministers insisted that the party leaders and workers in the state connect and communicate to the masses.
They wanted that the people of the state must be informed about the different schemes such as Jan Dhan, Pahal (LPG) and Mudra, among others.
