SHILLONG: The suspended MCS officer and former BDO of Jirang, Grandwill Harly Passah, who was arrested for allegedly sponsoring the attack on the secretary of MPSC WAM Booth, has been hospitalised.
East Khasi Hills SP Davis Marak said on Monday that for the last four days, he is in Shillong Civil Hospital after he was remanded in police custody for seven days last Thursday.
Though Passah had denied his involvement in the crime, the district police chief said investigation was on to know whether the crime was committed due to his suspension following the case related to late Patharkhmah officer-in charge PJ Marbaniang a few years ago.
The case was probed by former City (SP) Vivek Syiem whose wife is the MPSC secretary.
Police will also look into the angle on the probe carried out by Booth in the capacity of Joint Secretary, Sericulture, into the anomalies in the department where Passah’s sister is working.
