Cab driver challenges cops on duty
On July 29, one rural taxi (ML-05J-4209) driven by Macdulfy Stone Kharshiing dashed against one Police Flying Squad motorcycle (ML-02-0209) at 3rd Mile junction, Upper Shillong and attempted to flee. However, Police managed to detain the driver. However, when the accused was arrested, he challenged and obstructed the

Police from performing their duty.
Man held for drug possession
On July 28 around 1.50 pm, Police arrested Ajay Baruah (48) from Madanrting taxi stand, Shillong and recovered 0.97 grams of suspected heroin from his possession.

Three injured in separate accidents
On July 28 around 4.41 am, a scooty bearing registration number AS01BJ7043 collided with a Mahindra bolero pickup bearing registration number AS01FC4633 at Mawtnum, when the scooty lost control trying to avoid the pick-up truck coming from the wrong side. The scooty rider and pillion rider identified as Mincham  Hamse (30) and Bonnifast Ronghang (36) both were injured. They both were shifted to Nongpoh Civil Hospital by Umsing based 108 ambulance and later transferred to NEIFGHRIMS for further treatment.
In another incident, a Sumo met with an accident near Mawlyngngad on July 27 around 4.34 pm, a lady identified as Leki (20) sustained injuries. She was shifted to Civil Hospital, Shillong, by Smit based 108 ambulance.
