No nominations on day 3 for Tura By-poll

TURA: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma remains the sole candidate to have filed his nomination for the South Tura by-poll as there were no other candidates to do so on Wednesday, third day of nominations.

No candidate from either the Congress or other parties or even Independents have so far come forth to file their nomination for the August 23rd by-elections.

While nominations began on Monday, it was a day later that the first nomination, that of the chief minister, was filed.

So far, besides the NPP candidate and chief minister, nomination papers have so far been taken by the Congress, former MLA John Leslee K Sangma and aspiring Independent candidate Kris Kabul Sangma.

Nominations will come to a close of August 6th afternoon.
