Children of mixed marriages harassed

SHILLONG: With children of mixed marriages facing trolls and adverse comments following the passing of Khasi lineage bill, the chairperson of state child rights commission Meena Kharkongor has asked the police to probe into the matter.
In a letter addressed to the special superintendent of police, Cyber Crime Cell, Kharkongor said certain individuals or groups have resorted to defaming minors of inter-caste marriage, spitting out venomous and hate messages which are not acceptable and the state commission of child rights has taken exception to it.
The commission, after taking suo motu cognizance of the matter, wanted police to arrest such individuals or groups so that this will act as a deterrent for others.
