SHILLONG: Two writ petitions challenging the election of HS Shylla as KHADC CEM filed by MDCs Grace Mary Kharpuri and James Ban Basaiawmoit came up for hearing on Wednesday.
Two applications were filed in both matters by MDCs supporting the present executive committee for making them party or respondents since they are vitally interested in the outcome of the case.
A lawyer dealing with the matter said they will be questioning the maintainability of both the writ petitions.
The counsel representing Shylla and the new applicants who are MDCs, is Michelle Kynta led by senior advocate SS Dey and state respondent is represented by Advocate General Amit Kumar and KHADC by senior advocate VGK Kynta.
The petitioners are represented by Advocate K Paul, who sought two days’ time to file rejoinder affidavit.
The matter is slated for hearing after a week.
