BJP not to field candidate for Ranikor

SHILLONG: The BJP has decided not to field any candidate for the Ranikor by-poll and instead the party will support any MDA candidate.
A decision in this regard was taken in the meeting of the Ranikor BJP Mandal held on Wednesday at Nongjri in South West Khasi Hills.
The meeting was attended by state BJP president Shibun Lyngdoh and other state functionaries.
Basu Chakraborty, the spokesperson for BJP Meghalaya, said after detailed discussion, it was decided that the party will not field a candidate for the by-election.
According to the statement of the party, BJP has unanimously decided to support ‘any candidate’ of the MDA partner for the by-poll.
