NONSTOIN: The meeting of the District Task Force on immunisation for measles-rubella campaign, West Khasi Hills, was held at the Conference Hall of Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Nongstoin on Friday.
DC, K. L. Nongbri said the vaccination campaign is to eliminate measles and control rubella. This vaccination campaign will include all children from 9 months to below 15 years of age.
Considering the importance of the campaign, he instructed all the departments implementing the programme to take appropriate and effective steps in ensuring maximum coverage of all target beneficiaries.
Nongbri also urged all the departments involved in the campaign to extend their support and take the initiative in fulfilling their roles and responsibilities.
W.W. Phira, District Medical and Health Officer, reiterated that for the success of the programme all stakeholders will be sensitised on the vaccination campaign and all pre-campaign activities will be carried out within the stipulated time and in an efficient manner.
The meeting was also attended by District Programme Officer, ICDS, District School Education Officer, and the Sub-Divisional School Education Officer, representatives from the offices of the District Public Relation Officer and others.
