Deadline
East Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner (Supply) has issued a notification directing the beneficiaries of the district under the National Food Security Act (NFSA), 2013, to submit their correct particulars for disposal of claims and objections in order to streamline the overall process of identification. As per the notification, the particulars of the beneficiaries will be accepted by the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Supply till August 14.

School of Nursing, Civil Hospital will hold an Alumni meet of the School of Nursing, Civil Hospital on August 8 at 1 pm at the institute.
Election
The Triennal election of the office bearers of Youth Hostels Association of India, Meghalaya Branch for the term of 2018-2021 will be held on October 6 at the government youth hostel premises at 2 pm. YHAI members may collect nomination form from the Secretary YHAI Meghalaya State Branch. The last date of submission of nomination form is September 5. Election will be conducted for the posts of president, vice-president, chairman and Treasurer.
Cultural evening
Geetali, a socio-cultural organisation is organising a cultural evening as part of Silver Jubilee on August 26 from 5 pm onwards. Artist from Kolkata Tirtha Bhattacharjee, Sagnik Sen & Deepanita Choudhury, who was the contestant of Zee Bangla Sa Re Ga Ma Pa will perform in this programme. Entry pass will be available at Geetali office or Jyoti Medical Hall in Laban.
Tagore’s death anniv
On the occasion of the 77th death anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, with the support of the Department of Arts and Culture, Meghalaya, Tagore admirers will pay a floral tribute at his statue at Brookside, Rilbong on August 8 at 3:30 pm. It will be followed by a programme infront of the Rabindranath Tagore Art Gallery.
Taekwondo C’ship
Meghalaya Open Goodwill Taekwondo Championship, one of the biggest taekwondo events of the state is schedule to be held on August 11 and 12 from 9 am to 7 pm at U Tirot Sing Indoor Stadium. It is organised by the Taekwondo Institute of Meghalaya along with EKHD Taekwondo Association under the aegis of Meghalaya Taekwondo Sports Association.
Shrawan Mahotsav
The Shiv Bhakt Mandali is going to celebrate “Kawar Yatra” on the occasion of Shrawan Mahotsav on August 12. The programme will start with “SHIV-AARTI” on August 12 at 7:15 am and therafter a religious procession will proceed for Mahadev Khola Shiv Mandir, 101 Area. Bhandara is also arranged from 9: 30 am to 1pm for the devotees and public in general.
