SHILLONG: With a spurt in instances of Muslims marrying Khasi women in the state, KSU general secretary Donald V Thabah said their off springs should follow patriliny.
“We are aware of the trend and we had made it clear even during the time of erstwhile leaders of the KSU that such families should follow patriliny,” Thabah said on Sunday during a news conference in the city.
According to Thabah, there are also cases of misuse of matriliny by those who marry Khasi women just for the sake of benefits and doing business in the name of local women.
