Shooting championship send off ceremony held in the city
SHILLONG: A send off ceremony for the 28 Member Team from the Shooting Association of Meghalaya, participating in the (6th North East Zone Shooting Championship in Aizawl, Mizoram), was held at 5.30pm, on August 3,2018, in the  shooting range of the Meghalaya Police Shooting Club, in Shillong. The 6th North East Zone Shooting Championship, Aizawl, Mizoram, is being held from August 6 to 13, 2018, and the Meghalaya sharp Shooters are competing in the category of events 10mtr airpistol and 10mtr AirRifle  Men/Women/Youth/ and Junior; the 25Mtr Standard Men, the 25mtr sports pistol Women and Junior;  25mtr Center-Fire Men; 50mtr open site prone Men/Women and 50mtr peep site prone Men Women.

Wahlakhiat Bulls end Langsning Lions unbeaten run in MBL
SHILLONG: Wahlakhiat Bulls ended Langsning Greenergy Lions’ impressive unbeaten run in the Meghalaya Baby League 2018 by winning three of the five games between the two sides on Saturday. It was the first inter-conference day in the MBL 2018, which is a joint initiative of Tata Trusts, the Meghalaya Football Association and All India Football Federation, where teams played those from the different conference (or group) that they are in. Twenty-five matches were held at three venues – Third Ground, the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and the Futsal Ground – at the Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex between 10 teams.It was also a special day for us as Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Shri BanteidorLyngdoh, was present during the afternoon session and watched the children enjoying themselves in a few matches. The Greenergy Lions are in the Western Conference, which they have completely dominated, while Wahlakhiat are in the Eastern Conference. The Bulls won in all the youngest three age brackets, while Langsning then won in the 10-11 age group before drawing 1-1 in the 12-13 age group.All teams had at least one victory on Saturday.
