Accidents
On August Monday 1:40 am, one Hyundai Eon car (AS-01DR-3988) driven by Trinath Kalita, capsized on the road at Quinine in Ri Bhoi. The driver and three occupants sustained injuries and were transported to Nongpoh Civil Hospital by a Nongpoh based 108 ambulance.
On Sunday around 5:30 pm, one Maruti car (AS-01BY-6286) knocked down three children at 13th Mile in Byrnihat. The victims sustained injuries and one of them succumbed to injuries on the way to CH Nongpoh. The driver had fled after the incident.

Assault
On August 4 around 7:00 am, one Damat Sohtun assaulted his wife at his residence in Umbir. The victim sustained injuries and was taken to PHC Umbir. Police have arrested the accused.
On Sunday around 6:19 pm, police called 108 regarding an assault case at Byrnihat in which three persons were injured. The victims were identified as Bhola Roya (30), Binku Dey (39) and Pankaj Bal (31). They were later taken to Nongpoh Civil Hospital by a Byrnihat based 108 ambulance.

Body recovered
On August 3 around 2:00 pm, the body of an unidentified male was recovered from a jungle near Chijong A’pal village in East Garo Hills. Necessary formalities have been observed and the cadaver has been sent for post mortem.

Fraud
S Vungngaih Ching of Lummarboh, Nongrah, lodged a complaint stating that on August 4 around 11:14 am, she received one anonymous phone call, wherein the caller introduced himself as an official of SBI Main Branch, Shillong and asked for her ATM details. She later learnt that an unauthorized purchase of Rs 49,999 was made through PAYTM.

Missing
Pappu Singh of Cantonment Area, Umroi lodged an FIR informing that on August 1, his eighteen-year-old daughter, left their residence and has not returned home.
Chanda Thapa lodged a complaint stating that on July 31, her husband Bapon Nongmin of Boro Mangora went missing along with their two-year-old daughter at Nengsinggittim village in South Garo Hills.

Suicide attempt
On Sunday around 8:52 am one Rajat Das (39) from 4th Furlong CRPF Camp, attempted suicide. The victim was transported to Civil Hospital by a Laitumkhrah based 108 ambulance.

Theft
Rodalin Thabah lodged a complaint stating that her husband Ahaila Ali stole Rs 2 lakh cash from her house at Majai, Bholaganj and fled.
Sherborstar Khyriem of Nongsder village, Pynursla lodged a complaint stating that unknown miscreants broke into his house and stole a gold ring and one ATM card.
Tilar Langstang lodged a complaint stating that on Sunday around 4:00 pm, unknown miscreants broke into his house at Central Nongrim Hills and stole Rs 50,000 cash.
On Sunday around 10:30 am, unknown miscreants broke into the house of Debmalya Bhattacharya at Lumshngain, Rynjah and stole Rs 1,35,000 cash.
On August 4 around 2:00 am, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-08D-2048) belonging to Lutherbirth M Sangma from the Agriculture office at Hawakhana, Tura.
On August 3 around 11:00 am, one motorcycle (ML-08E-0430) belonging to Jimpoth Ch Marak was found missing from Zikzak Bazar in South West Garo Hills.
On August 1, unknown miscreant(s) stole one motorcycle (ML-08C-2690) belonging to Levingstone D Sangma from his residence at Chengapara in West Garo Hills.
Kola Lyngdoh lodged a complaint stating that on July 23, unknown miscreant(s) stole one motor valued at Rs 1,80,000 from Mokyndeng PHE Water Supply House in West Jaintia Hills.

Vandalism
Nanglamlin Rynjah lodged a complaint stating that on August 4, unknown miscreants vandalized the SBI ATM at Nongrah, resulting in the non-functioning of the ATM.
Dipesh Gurung, Channel Manager, SBI Administrative Office, Dhankheti, lodged a complaint stating that on August 3, two persons identified as Jefferson Chyrngap, Jerry George Shadap and one sixteen-year-old juvenile vandalized an ATM Booth at Mawlai Kynton Massar. Police have arrested the accused.
