SHILLONG: Several patients who were fasting to get operated were stranded due to lack of anesthesia consultants at NEIGRIHMS on Monday.
Sources said the Urology OPD was cancelled since anesthesia consultant Dr Rajani Thabah refused to take up the cases as the consultant posted in Urology Operation Theatre was on leave.
The patients who were on fast could not be taken to the operation theatre due to this, the sources said, adding that the head of the Department of Urology could not address the concerns of the patients.
