SHILLONG: PDF candidate PN Syiem was oozing confidence on Monday when he said he would win the Ranikor by-poll as he had the support of other parties, including UDP.
The former KHADC CEM said most of the leaders from BJP, NPP and UDP, besides a few Congress leaders who were supposed to be given ticket for the by-poll are supporting him.
“Many UDP leaders feel that Pius Marwein is junior and hence they are supporting me,” he said as he slammed MM Danggo, the NPP’s candidate saying the former MLA failed to bring about any development in the constituency.
Stating that he has already started campaign, Syiem lamented that the constituency does not have proper communication, health care facilities and even educational centres.
He also said that as the Congress will go all out to defeat Danggo in the election, it will benefit him.
The Ranikor by-poll is set to witness a multi-cornered contest between UDP’s Pius Marwein, Danggo, Syiem and Congress’s Jackiush K Sangma.
