He was speaking to reporters after meeting the Meghalaya Agricultural Students and Graduate Association who met the Minister with a demand to recruit the State sponsored quota graduates who have signed the bond cum agreement from 2004-05 onwards on seniority basis within a month.
Lyngdoh said the matter has been pending for the last 10 years and it is nothing new.
“These students approached the government after they did not get gainful employment after their studies.
But the problem is that the matter is pending for the last 10 years,” he said.
“We have discussed the matter with the Chief Minister to find solutions to the problem as the department is experiencing shortage of manpower and we need ample manpower in terms of officers and staff in the department,” he said.
Stating that the recruitment process is a complicated issue, the minister informed that the aspirants are the bonded students of the Agriculture department.
