SHILLONG: NPP MLA from Jirang Sosthenes Sohtun has alleged that foreigners have entered the state through Sukurburia and other villages bordering Meghalaya and Assam under his constituency in Ri Bhoi.
In a letter to Home Minister James Sangma, Sohtun described the situation as “very serious and needs to be addressed” as it affects the people of his constituency and the state in general. He also urged the home minister to pass necessary orders to the deputy commissioner and the district SP to monitor illegal immigration of foreigners.
